Craftsmanship & Process

We initially started with Smalti, founded by Orsoni, Venice, as our main material to create mosaics. But mosaic is an unrestricted art with limitless possibilities and we expanded to designs which incorporated marbles, backpainted glass, polished stones, copper and even paintings.

Mosaic making is a skill of utmost patience and a handy first aid kit. We ensure our work is quintessential in every form, taking it apart and putting it back together if needed. It can take weeks to months to finish one piece and with the nature of material on hand, one may easily get cut.

Once a design is set, our process begins with finalizing a colour scheme and making a shade card. We then decide on the cutting technique. And then with the Andamento which is drawing up the flow of the mosaic- the actual mosaic making begins. Here, we plan how the pieces will be laid down in the entire artwork. Our process reflects utmost perfection and thus requires the right training for our team. We have had renowned Italian mosaicists Alberto Pilan and Marzia Truant at our studio a few times to train our team. This team of trained individuals have an artistic flair which drives them to create masterpieces which are not only intricate but have an aesthetic appeal which makes them the life of any space they’re put in.
